- Define the essential properties of the time-sharing operating systems.
- Discuss the use of process control block in CPU switching in-between processes.

- Distinguish between client-server and peer-to-peer models of distributed systems.
- Show the interactions between the different process states. Explain using the proper diagram.

a. Network Operating system and Distributed operating system.
b. Real time operating system and Time sharing operating system.
c. Batch operating system and Real time operating system.ORWhat is a system call ? How it is handled by an OS ? Discuss it with the help of a diagram. - What are parallel systems ? Also discuss symmetric and asymmetric multiprocessing.ORDiscus s how OS have evolved over the years.

- Explain Reader-writers problem and provide a semaphore solution using semaphores for reads priority problems.ORExplain the range of monitors with a schematic view of its structure; write a monitor solution to the bounded-buffer problem.
